Aviation Readiness Training Programs

Our Aviation Readiness Training Programs (ART) are multi-week employment and training programs that introduce learners to a variety of aviation careers. It combines classroom learning, industry certifications, and career exploration to prepare participants for success in the aviation sector.

This program is open to anyone interested in exploring a career in aviation. Each stream may have its own eligibility requirements, but all learners are required to commit to the program full-time.

• Reside in Alberta, Canada, and be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Be able to pass a security clearance
• Have full-time availability for the duration of the 3, 5, or 8-week program (100% attendance is required)
• Be able to attend in person at the Edmonton International Airport, or virtually via Google Classroom (for applicants outside the Greater Edmonton Area only). Please note, the FAST program is not available virtually.
• Have basic computer skills, access to a computer, and reliable internet.

No relocation is required. Learners who live in the Greater Edmonton Area will attend training in person at the Elevate Aviation Learning Centre, while learners in other parts of Alberta may participate virtually when available. 

There is no specific age requirement. However, participants must be able to attend the program full-time and fully engage in both online and in-person learning activities.

The Aviation Readiness Programs are free to attend! It is fully funded through the Government of Alberta, allowing participants to gain valuable training and certifications at no cost.

Attendance is key to your success. Our expectation is that no more than 3 days of learning are missed. Learners are expected to attend all scheduled classes, with an understanding that unexpected life events may occur. The Elevate Aviation Learning Centre team will work with you to support your learning experience.

Classes typically run Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (times may vary). Aviation is a 24/7 industry, and our programs reflect that flexibility.

No experience is necessary! Our programs are designed to introduce you to aviation from the ground up.

You will build foundational skills for success and gain an understanding of how they apply to a range of aviation careers. You’ll also meet aviation professionals and hear their stories.

You will earn industry-recognized safety certifications that prepare you for entry-level roles in aviation. 

You’ll graduate with industry-recognized certifications, new skills, and confidence to pursue a career in aviation. You’ll also have connections with employers and mentors who can help guide your next steps.

While job placement is not guaranteed, you’ll leave equipped with the tools, training, and support to apply for aviation roles. We connect learners with industry employers who are actively hiring.

If needed, a laptop and accessories will be provided for the duration of the program. All equipment must be returned in working order at the end of training.

2. You will  receive an automated email (please check your spam/junk/promotions folder ) with links to your application package, including:

• Application Form
• Career Investigation Report (CIR)
• Budget Form

3. Once your documents are submitted, an Intake & Assessment Advisor will contact you to schedule an Intake Meeting.

We do not offer pilot licence training at the Elevate Aviation Learning Centre. Our programs focus on foundational skills and safety certifications that prepare individuals for a wide range of aviation careers.
